After the war, Gombrich resumed his work at the Warburg Institute until his retirement. During that time, he frequently communicated with Oxford University, the University of Cambridge, Harvard University, and other higher education institutions. His works included The Story of Art, and Art and Illusion: A Study in the Psychology of Pictorial Representation.
